Originally, the Manor House was the home of Frank B. Shields, founder of the Barbasol Company.
Mr. Shields upon seeing the numerous red fox roaming the scenic woods and cliffs of these 727 acres named his estate Foxcliff.
To this day, many of the residents see these beautiful animals wandering through this picturesque terrain of Southern Indiana.
